From the Director

This film is my latest project that was originally an extension of another documentary about the African Dance and Drum art from Guinea and Mali following artists from New York and the Asase Yaa Foundation. However, after my trip to Guinea I realized that this was another film entirely. This piece follows a group of African-American dancers and drummers traveling to Conakry, Guinea in a cultural exchange with some of the masters from the area. It features amazing performances and insight into the culture. More importantly, it reflects the love and camaraderie between the African artists and their brothers and sisters of the diaspora.
